ASQ Software Division Region 2 Report for 3Q2007

A 2007-2008 program planning meeting was held with the WNYSIP Western New York Informational Professionals and we will be having another year of joint meetings with the ASQ SQITG Software Quality Information Technology Group.
We are presenting one software track (a full day work shop) as part of the eight-track Annual Conference held by ASQ section 201 Buffalo, NY on September 14, 2007.  For more information or to register see www.asqconference.com

Registration for track 7 includes 3 presentations: 
Track 7, part 1 of 3 - Transforming Information Technology utilizing Best Practices and methodologies: ITIL and ISO 20000.
The facilitator for this Workshop is Ms. Lisa Hartley, Vice President of ITG’s Quality Standards & Performance Solutions Group.  Ms. Hartley is a registered ISO Assessor, has received specialized CMMI training from Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute,  is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, is ITIL certified, and has conducted extensive speaking engagements and training sessions, and published many articles on International  Standards and certifications. 

Track 7, part 2 of 3 - Implementing CMMI in your organization: the benefits, hurdles and recommendations.
The facilitator for this Workshop is Mr. Richard Cox, Manager of the SEI Partner Network for the Software Engineering

Track 7, part 3 of 3- The Benefits Of Using ISO/IEC 27001 To Form Your Information Security Compliance Process 

ISO/IEC 27001 can help form not only the basis for a safe and secure ISMS, but design and deploy a comprehensive risk governance platform both for compliance and assurance.

The facilitator for this Workshop is Mr. John A. DiMaria, who serves on committees that influence legislation and drive international harmonization such as the CSIA (Cyber Security Industry Alliance) and the BITS Shared Assessment Program. He has been featured in many publications such as Computer World, Quality Magazine, QSU, SC Magazine and Campus Technology concerning various topics regarding information security and business continuity.
