Service Quality Body of Knowledge Volunteer Opportunities

The Service Quality Division is soliciting committee members to form subcommittees to focus on defining a Service Quality Body of Knowledge using the topics listed below. These main topics have been identified through research, surveys, and round table discussions.

Subcommittee Topics

  1. Customer Focus
  2. Measurement
  3. Quality Tools
  4. Communication
  5. Management Principles
  6. Quality Systems

The responsibilities of a Subcommittee Member are to: be available for monthly or quarterly conference calls (frequency to be determined); participate in committee discussion with the purpose of defining your committee’s main topic and related sub topics; participate in research with the purpose of identifying resources that support your committee’s topics and sub topics; respect and protect authorship or copyrights on behalf of the committee; approach information gathering with the good of all Service Quality Professionals in mind; and as a subcommittee chair or secretary, participate in steering committee conference calls in order to provide subcommittee status reports. SQD Speakers List

ASQ members and member units have requested that we provide a location where speakers can register their availability and areas of expertise that can be matched up with member units and organizations that need that information. This survey will collect the information to allow that connection to be made. SQD is not an agent to negotiate the speaking engagements. Inclusion on this list is not an endorsement of the speaker by SQD. All actions taken with this data collection will be in accordance with ASQ policies and procedures and the operating agreements of SQD and other member units.

This data will be provided to ASQ member units on request. If you are interested please follow the link below:

How can I get involved in a Service Quality Division activity?

The Service Quality Division is staffed and run entirely by volunteers. Every member, just like you, has some unique contribution they can make. This might include a Competitive Advantage newsletter article, coordination of a regional or local initiative to advance service quality management, participation on the Annual Service Quality Conference Committee, participation as a conference speaker, or development of an informational brochure such as this one. Whatever talent or interest you have, there is likely a current need for your involvement. Call any Service Quality Division board member about your interest.

I have a question related to service quality. Who should I contact?

You may find your questions answered by reading the Competitive Advantage newsletter published by the division, or by reading ASQ's On Q and Quality Progress magazines. ASQ's Quality Press also lists books unique to service quality in its catalogues. Use our search to find what you need. Additionally, you can direct your questions to any member of the Service Quality Division board directly through our discussion board.
Attending the Annual Service Quality Conference is another great way to learn about leading trends in approaches and deployment of service quality management tools and techniques. It is also a great way to network within and outside of your industry.
