Analytical tools include modern mechanical reliability applications, problems, and solutions to design, manufacture, and field situations

Credible Reliability Prediction     $25.00
Shipping & Handling:  $5.00 within U.S., $10.00 outside U.S.

Author:  Dr. Laurence L. George
Dr. Lawrence George, delineates methods he has refined over several decades of effectively extending MTBF prediction to complex, redundant, dependent, standby, and life-limited systems. This method accommodates the ongoing use of additional field data as received to update predictions.  Thus, reliability growth may be monitored as user data accumulates.  Field data progress can be fed back into new product development. In this manner continuing assessments of reliability throughout the life cycle improve credibility. He also presents his method of using observed field reliability assessments of comparable products or parts to estimate apriori age-specific reliability of candidate designs. Additionally, this work shows how to make your own parts-count and parts-stress MTBF prediction spreadsheets. This 64 page mono-graph also discusses software for performing complex-system MTBF prediction.

Object-Oriented System Reliability     $25.00
Shipping & Handling:  $5.00 within U.S., $10.00 outside U.S.

Author: Dr. Mitchell O. Locks
Dr. Mitchell Locks introduces a new technique for addressing the mathematics of systems reliability using the algebra of partially ordered Boolean sets.  The work presents the logical relationship between set theory, lattice theory, and system reliability.  An important innovation taken in this work is to view the process as object-oriented, similar to that employed in computer sciences.  Use of finite ordered sets contributes clarity to such systems reliability concepts as “minimal cut” and “minimal path.”  In addition to explaining the mathematics of inclusion-exclusion as well as the sum of disjoint products (grouped and ungrouped) are explained.  Techniques for measuring reliability importance are delineated. Measuring importance is often of value in system design trade-offs and decision making.  This 65 page book includes bibliographical references, a listing of related readings, and a comprehensive glossary on terminology of system reliability.
