Austin Bonis Award

Presented at RAMS for Excellence in Education

The Austin Bonis Award is given for excellence in education. Five areas of achievement will be evaluated and scored. All achievements and work considered for the award must have occurred within the last 5 years.

  • Recognition for teaching in public seminars or Continuing Education/Adjunct faculty.
  • Recognition for teaching in Academia on reliability topics.
  • Presentation of papers at reliability conferences.
  • Publication of a Tutorial at a reliability conference.
  • Publication of a textbook on reliability topics.

Each of the above areas will be scored on a 1-5 basis. The scoring system is as follows.

  1. Teaching or contributions to the reliability field at a local conference or within a corporation at a local site.
  2. Teaching or contributions to the reliability field at a regional level conference or presenting seminars for multiple divisions of a corporation.
  3. Teaching or contributions to the reliability field at a national level conference or at the national level in a large (Fortune 500) corporation.
  4. Teaching or contributions to the reliability field at an international level or for an international corporation in locations outside of the U.S.
  5. Outstanding and original work recognized as a keynote speaker at a national or international conference.
