How Quality Plays on Wall Street
Analyzer Verifys Chemical Composition
The QualitySpec TI near-infrared analyzer from Analytical Spectral
Devices (ASD) verifies the chemical composition and concentration of tablets,
rejects foreign tablets and alerts the operator if no tablet is present.
It has an evaluation speed of 90 cycles/minute/head, accommodating up to 24 tablets per blister, and has the ability to scan 2,160 tablets per minute.
ASD says the analyzer provides 100% in-line screening and is nondestructive, making no physical contact with the package or product. It measures reflectance, transmittance and transflectance and features a spectral range of 350 to 2,500 nm with wavelength accuracy of ± 0.8 nm and repeatability of ± 0.02 nm.

Monitoring System Improves Control Process
Stamotech says its insert press fit monitoring equipment integrates automated
insert press monitoring systems into the control loop of the manufacturing
process.
Once programmed, the monitoring system's force and distance sensors help dictate the process parameters using an evaluation algorithm. The process results are statistically checked and evaluated by the measuring controller.
The system also enables the user to recognize tendencies of negative influence factors in time to stop the production process if quality is jeopardized. Stamotech says its monitoring system aids companies in gathering information to determine the root cause of production failures.
Commands can be entered in English, German, French or Spanish.

Fuji Electric Selector Scans For Transmission Patterns
The Time Delta S Version 3 automatic transmission method and wave
pattern selector from Fuji Electric measures the flow rate of fluid process
properties.
Fuji says the selector scans through either correlation or standard transit time mode of up to seven different transmission patterns until the optimum configuration for the fluid system is acquired.
The selector is available for ultrapure to moderately dirty or aerated systems for system pipe diameters of 0.5 to 236 in.
