A New Approach to Measuring Information Systems Quality
Quality Management Journal vol. 16 issue 1 - January 2009
Abstract:[This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Ensuring system, software, and information quality in today’s environment continues to be difficult due to the many dimensions involved. Using the concepts of an earlier study as a starting point, an overall measure of system quality is developed. Discussions with business leaders and information systems (IS) personnel served as a basis of knowledge. The need to add both an IS perspective and a corporate perspective to the assessment of system quality was determined. The quality of different systems must be measured in terms of features that are important to the system objectives and the user/management expectations. The expanded measure for system quality provides the means for a quick, comprehensive, and valid assessment.
