Abstract: Six Sigma is recognized as a business improvement approach that uses statistical techniques to identify and eliminate causes of defects by focusing on process outputs of critical importance to customers. Statistical thinking is fundamental to the Six Sigma process because it provides a process view of work that facilitates the use of statistical tools. This study shows how statistical thinking was use to deploy a Six Sigma project addressing a quality problem in a manufacturing process that was causing significant customer dissatisfaction.
