An agile software development method is proposed that defines explicit design activities based on phased modeling, inclusive modeling, and three types of design sessions. Two strategies for scheduling these design activities are applied to projects, and the overall design quality is measured throughout the project life cycle. Results illustrate the superior qualities of one strategy over the other in terms of design quality and comparable productivity.
