Abstract: [This abstract is based on the author’s abstract.]
The specificity of gamma regression-based individuals control charts is considered for estimating the reasonable expectations for errors associated with influenza outbreak detection. It is shown how theoretically appropriate quality control models of influenza activity become increasingly specific and therefore more useful in identifying non-seasonal outbreaks. Practical application is discussed.
