Abstract: A course on total quality leadership (TQL) changed a Navy lieutenant’s future, who eventually became a TQL coordinator, or director of quality. Author Rip Stauffer credits his Navy division officer with inadvertently putting his life on a different career course. While Stauffer began learning about quality while working for Ford, he really began to see the benefits of quality while taking the TQL course.
