Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] The results of a survey designed to identify student debugging and programming practices is discussed, and suggestions are made to improve the quality of courses and assignments. A pilot program is considered to develop noncredit seminars that will give students a hands-on approach to learning in a low-stress environment outside the classroom.
