Abstract: The Indianapolis Section of ASQ is spearheading strategic alliances to pursue quality improvement and organizational excellence in central Indiana. Various government and economic organizations were enlisted to strengthen the economy by promoting supply chain and logistics industries. At the same time, the University of Indianapolis began developing supply chain curricula to align its academic programs with state and regional economic development initiatives. By expanding the alliance with the Indianapolis section of ASQ, the university developed win-win relationships with local chapters of other professional societies. A collaborative mindset and willingness to adapt are keys to successful alliances.
