Abstract: [This abstract is based on the author’s abstract.] There are three phases of progress in a software project. First, the measurement of progress must take into account connections between stakeholders and the qualities, tools and artifacts of the software. Second, it is important to keep track of the progress at different stages in order to identify bottlenecks in the production workflow. Third, it is wise to keep an eye on how the budget is being spent. Burn charts, cumulative flow diagrams, and time/budget charts are indispensible for monitoring progress in these three dimensions.
