Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]
As software quality becomes increasingly important, international standards such as ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 are being adopted by organizations of all sizes. These standards, however, were not written for very small business of fewer than 25 employees and are difficult to apply in such settings. A new ISO working group is addressing these difficulties. A survey was conducted among very small businesses on their use of ISO standards and to collect data to identify problems and potential solutions. More than 400 responses were received from 31 countries.
