Abstract: Although Six Sigma has been a hot topic in business, government, and academia for a number of years now, the focus has been mainly on deployment, with little research into how to assess the maturity of Six Sigma implementation. A recent study established a general framework for Six Sigma maturity assessment, but it doesn’t provide a measurement system to evaluate maturity. A set of Six Sigma assessment criteria is proposed that can be used for self-assessment and third-party assessment of Six Sigma deployment maturity. For additional information, a sidebar article provides the Six Sigma body of knowledge.
