Abstract: Organizations that combine lean and Six Sigma must find the right blend that accentuates the strengths of both philosophies in order to avoid failures and get maximum results. Many fall short of their goals because they have made six common missteps. Together, lean and Six Sigma can provide the practitioner with concepts to improve or design processes that can be used in primitive process environments without formal data collection processes or mature process environments with advanced digital reporting processes.
