Abstract: Having a sense of purpose is essential in achieving high performance. The author looks at companies around the world to identify the hot spots that ignite latent energy and cooperation. Characteristics shared by individuals and organizations that successfully ignite this sense of purpose are described. A sidebar article reviews Gratton's book, Hot Spots.
