Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]
The longitudinal impact of ISO 9000 certification on business performance is examined by studying monthly stock returns of companies traded on the Istanbul stock exchange. The results showed that ISO 9000 certified firms had higher returns and lower variability of returns than non-ISO 9000 certified firms. In addition, the certifying agency, whether Turkish or foreign, and the length of time with ISO 9000 certification, had little effect on stock performance and variability of returns.
