Abstract: The Teamwork Through Tinkertoys (TTT) exercise challenges teams to build a Tinkertoy ® vehicle from a collection of parts, sight unseen, inside a cardboard box. The purpose of this exercise is to emphasize the importance of quality planning, practice effective communication, and experience the benefits of working together. The complete TTT exercise involves repeating the blind assembly a second time, after the team has learned from its first experience. By applying quality planning the second time, participants are able to reduce their assembly time by at least half, showing that teamwork really works.
