Abstract: [This abstract is based on the author's abstract.]The problems of defining quality in the construction Industry are discussed, and possible benefits of implementing quality, as well as barriers to quality implementation are examined. Data gathered during interviews with contractors and from two questionnaire surveys in the construction industry are used. Research results show that implementing total quality management (TQM) concepts can reduce costs and employee injuries and improve quality and customer satisfaction.
