Abstract: Six Sigma is as relevant to business strategy as it is to quality management, but until now the literature has focused on basic Six Sigma philosophy and its implementation and the resulting performance. Little attention has been paid to Six Sigma's relationship to quality performance. A Six Sigma business strategy framework is proposed that allocates organizational resources to solve critical business problems through Six Sigma methodology. During the business strategy development stage, the organization must develop a Six Sigma organizational culture before prioritizing strategies. Six Sigma quality approaches should include formation of a steering committee to oversee project management, to implement DMAIC integration, and to measure Six Sigma quality and its effects on profitability.
