Abstract: A 2004 survey of industry executives showed that while nearly all agreed that quality favorably influences profits, few had actually used quality methods. Quality professionals can play a significant role in supporting performance management initiatives by ensuring executives are aware of the range of methodologies and the resources available to help them implement them. In addition, any plan for significant technical change must include activities to facilitate social change as well. On way to respond to the future is to co-create it. This sense and respond approach enables us to determine what is working and what is not so we can leverage successful efforts and use failures as learning opportunities to support new methods.
