Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]Quality as a supply chain performance measure has not been sufficiently addressed in the literature. Planning for quality in the manufacturing supply chain requires a context that can be provided by a schematic model showing the interrelationship between strategic production planning and strategic supply chain planning. Quality requirements for each supplied part, as derived from a listing of individual customer needs, are critical criteria in supplier selection and other sourcing decisions.
