Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]A study examines quality management practices of small manufacturing enterprises and their ability to meet quality expectations of large retail organizations. Results indicate that selected suppliers had a higher level of conformity with the buyers' quality criteria. Although the majority of firms participating in the program failed to meet buyer expectations, the study shows that the adoption of quality management practices improves the firms' chances.
