Abstract: [This abstract is based on the author's abstract.] When many fault states occur in complex electromechanical equipment, it is difficult to identify the root cause of failure. A technique based on the analysis of the sequence of events preceding the failure state is proposed to classify these failure types into smaller categories that lend themselves to the application of root causes identifying the most likely cause of failure.
