Abstract: Over the next decade, quality professionals can expect to see their traditional roles increasingly absorbed into project management and other functional areas. To survive in this changing environment, today's quality professionals will have to learn the language of management and acquire new competencies in technical, business, human resource, and environmental areas. Gaining wider exposure to functions and responsibilities outside the usual quality role allows those who are prepared to meet new and emerging opportunities.
