Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] A generic software process-improvement model based on quality function deployment provides companies with an affordable means to improve their software process. The processes and practices in the software process matrix are based on existing software process-improvement models. The matrix has been validated using action research with control groups in a longitudinal study. Appendices cover quality function deployment, hypothesis testing, concordance and discordance, and relationships between processes and practices.
