The ISO 9000:2000 PSI IDEAS Q&A—Management Commitment (Part 1)

The IDEAS Q&A is aimed at providing a variety of perspectives on requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and the challenges they present to users. Question 19 is: Since revising your QMS to conform with ISO 9001:2000, are the members of Top Management more committed to supporting the overall system? Has their participation in and ownership of the QMS increased, remained the same or decreased, and in what ways? Do they consider some of the new requirements as being helpful from a business perspective or just “another ISO 9001 thing”? What have auditors observed as far as management commitment to and use of the QMS in the terms defined above?
