Gain Top Management Support When QMS Drives Leadership
Eugene M. Barker writes that the best way to make your ISO 9001:2000-based
QMS a driver of the enterprise is to develop it and promote it in ways
that will gain Top Management’s attention. What you need to do is
establish a Leadership System that harnesses the QMS in a way Top Management
can understand and use. In effect, the QMS must be a tool for leadership.
Barker examines the concept of a Leadership System, a continual improvement
cycle that management can enter into at any point and then move forward
through the cycle as the organization improves and matures. It provides
the process for leading the organization forward in the pursuit of continual
stakeholder satisfaction. He explores the steps involved in implementing
a Leadership System and creating an effective environment for the system.
