Divergence From Public Procedure Leads to Lawsuit
Are you aware of prohibitions against using a registrar and affiliated
consulting firm if you are seeking registration to sector-specific standards
aligned with ISO 9001:2000? And are you aware that enforcement of this
prohibition led to a lawsuit because public procedures did not reflect
actual practices that were authorized and documented elsewhere? Two very
different lessons arise from a single situation, lessons you should learn
before your organization suffers the affects of either outcome. This report
covers the circumstances of the lawsuit, the suspension of AS9000/9100
accreditation because of AIR5359A:2001 provisions and its subsequent lifting
and changes being made to ANSI-RAB NAP public procedures. Three new RAB
advisories and excerpts from Procedure R2.7 are included.
