Top Challenges: Procrastination and Unpreparedness

The top transition challenges cited by two registrars in a recent survey are the tendency for organizations to put off their transitions and a lack of QMS preparedness when the auditors do arrive. Indications are that registrars will withdraw certificates even if all a company is waiting for on December 16 is verification of corrective actions for nonconformities with ISO 9001:2000. The responses of two registrars to 8 survey questions about the transition are contained in this examination of registration trends, along with information on the transition status of clients for 4 registrars.
