Financial "Test Case" Precedes FS 9000 Development Work

The financial services sector plans to develop a set of standards compatible and/or aligned with ISO 9001:2000. Having recently completed a gap analysis of ISO 9001:2000 and additional quality management elements in a financial services organization, FSIX has begun drafting requirements and guidelines standards to address sector needs identified in the implementation "test case". The requirements and guidance in these standards will be specific to individual segments of the financial services industry. Details are provided about FS 9001, the other FS 9000 standards, "tiered certification", the test case, the reaction of FIs to FS 9000 and the status of the series.
