Stepping Up to ISO 9004:2000Apply Project Management
Tools
Russ Westcott writes that project management is a mix of
time-tested techniques with the art of managing people that
has once again moved to the forefront. In the thirteenth entry
in a series on stepping up to ISO 9004:2000 to go beyond a
baseline QMS, Westcott examines a hypothesis: The greatest
need for those involved with quality initiatives is to be
able to select the techniques and tools needed, from a limited
array of proven practices, that have the highest probabilities
of aiding the successful completion of an assigned project.
He uses a hypothetical project undertaken by your organization
to explore how to select and apply project management tools.
