The ISO 9001:2000 PSI IDEAS Q&A—Multiple Sector Requirements

The PSI IDEAS Q&A process is aimed at providing a variety of perspectives on requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and the challenges they present to users. The ninth question is: How do organizations that serve multiple sectors deal with the sector-specific QMS requirements while also dealing with the general QMS requirements of ISO 9001:2000? How do auditors assess QMSs that are designed to meet the requirements of multiple sectors? Is it easier to satisfy the sector-specific requirements with ISO 9001:2000 than with the 1994 edition?
