IASG Advises Registrars on Subcontractor Development
December 31, 2002, was the deadline for all critical-to-quality
suppliers to QS-9000-registered organizations to be registered
to ISO 9001/2 or in conformity by customer-approved second-party
audits. In advance of the deadline, the IASG issued an Advisory
to registrars detailing how QS-9000-registered suppliers that
have failed to get their subcontractors registered to ISO
9001/2 are to be treated, with a supplier to be given 4-6
months to correct the problem before its QS-9000 certificate
is revoked. A copy of the Advisory, registrar comments and
additional information are provided.
