The ISO 9001:2000 PSI IDEAS Q&AContinual Improvement
The PSI IDEAS program has launched a Q&A process aimed
at providing a variety of perspectives on requirements of
ISO 9001:2000 and the challenges they present to users. The
fourth question is: What is the intent of Subclause 8.5.1,
Continual Improvement? Is a procedure needed to define this
process? What would a third-party auditor look for in an organization
to prove that appropriate continual improvement activities
are taking place and are effective? If the continual improvement
activities have not been successful, then what happens?
