Active Change Enables Your Processes to Add More Value
John R. Broomfield writes that the action of creating and
revising the wording that is at the core of a management system
speaks far louder than the words themselves if the system
is process-based and geared to improvement. It is now time
to deepen the sense of ownership of the QMS by the people
who make up the organization and to update (or rewrite) your
Quality Manual so it reflects what your organization really
does and how it does it and is ready to drive improvement.
Broomfield explores Actions 9 (ensure each process definition
is reviewed for as-is) and 10 (update the Quality Manual to
describe your new system and how the key processes interact)
in his 16-step plan for making an effective transition to
ISO 9001:2000.
