Stepping Up to ISO 9004:2000Non-Employee Resources
Russell T. Westcott writes that, if "People are our
most important asset", does that make it less important
to manage all other assets? In the sixth entry in a series
on stepping up to ISO 9004:2000 to go beyond a baseline ISO
9001:2000 QMS and pursue TQM, Westcott notes that, while ISO
9001:2000 focuses on human resources, ISO 9004:2000 provides
resource management guidance that goes well beyond HR management.
He examines six clauses of ISO 9004 that focus on the other
resources an organization has or uses, the management of which
will affect how employees perform their jobs, the organizations
ability to meet customer needs or their affect on employee
performance.
