How Close to Six Sigma Are You?
Ronald G. Berglund writes that Six Sigma can be a truly effective
approach to business management but is simply a new "tool
box" filled with old tools. He points out that you may
already be equipped with some of those tools and on your way
to a functioning Six Sigma program. Berglund presents two
tables containing the core competencies needed for a Six Sigma
program and the quality tools for a DMAIC approach that can
serve as a Six Sigma checklist. He also reviews Section 8
of ISO 9001:2000 to show how the core competencies and quality
tools can help create a robust QMS.
