Sears to Register 580 Repair Centers to ISO 9001:2000
While units of Sears Parts and Repair Services have been
ISO 9002-registered for several years, Sears, Roebuck and
Co. has decided to have its entire line of In-Home and Carry-In
centers covered by a global QMS registered to ISO 9001:2000.
This 5-year effort will be completed by the end of 2004 and
involves a corporate certificate along with regional and district
certificates. Irina Shulman, ISO Program Manager for Sears
Parts and Repair Services, provides information about the
reasons for the Sears initiative, benefits Sears is already
obtaining and elements of the QMS program, including analysis
of customer satisfaction surveys.
