US ISO 9000 Registrations Top 40,000; ISO 9001:2000 5.2%

Registration data as of September 2002 show there were 40,455 certificates of registration to ISO 9001/2/3 held by US organizations and 55,574 in North America, but only 5.7% were for ISO 9001:2000 (5.2% in the US). This snapshot of North American registration activity includes analysis of possible causes for the delay in transitioning in North America and tables that present detailed reports on US, Canadian and North American registration activity involving ISO 9001:2000, the three 1994 editions, QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and three other ISO 9001-aligned sector-specific standards. A possible correlation between QS-9000 and ISO 9001:2000 registrations is also examined.
