TC 207: ISO 14000 Interpretations and Communications Issues Advance

TC 207 addressed two questions when it met in Kuala Lumpur June 30-July 8, 2001: How can an organization with an effective EMS communicate effectively on its EMS and what was the intention of the drafters of ISO 14001:1996? This report covers developments involving WG 4, which has begun the process of turning the approved NWIP on Environmental Communications into a standard, SC 1’s limited work on ISO 14001 interpretations and their consideration in revising ISO 14001, with attention focused on a question on environmental policy raised by Brazi1, and shifting of the work of SC 6, Terminology, to a task group including SC 1 members.
