Financial Services: Best Practices First, FS 9000 Later

On May 23, 2001, representatives from financial services organizations, registrars and other interested parties met to continue the development of an association that now foresees its primary purpose as the sharing of industry best practices. There is a growing consensus that the association’s top objective must be the improvement of international financial service processes and practices aimed at world-class performance, with FS 9000 as an important but secondary goal. Ken Ratner and Brian Hettrick provide information about developments at the May 23 meeting and the purpose of a June 25 meeting and discuss the association’s objectives and expected results.
