IAF Adopts Transition Guidance, Strengthens MLA Rules

The IAF met in November 2000 to approve guidance on how registrars accredited by IAF member bodies will handle ISO 9001:2000 registration issues. The focus of the meeting, however, was the revision and enhancement of the IAF MLA, which provides criteria for accreditation body practices and procedures for peer-review of accreditation bodies for conformance with the IAF-developed criteria. Excerpts from a communiqué issued following the meeting are included.
