ISO 14001 Has Positive Impact on Consumer Products
Virginia Shuey Vergani writes that, when representatives
of more than 150 countries gathered in Genoa in June 2001,
their purpose was to agree upon procedures for implementing
the Kyoto Protocol. Vergani reports that there is a small
but growing number of EU companies that have obtained registration
to ISO 14001 to actually make themselves more competitive
and to increase market share as a result of improvements to
processes and products attributable to their EMS efforts.
She provides a detailed look at four very different organizations
to examine the efforts they have undertaken to turn their
EMS and QMS registration efforts into business and product
improvement efforts.
