A Look At First Registrations to ISO 9001:2000

THE OUTLOOK requested information about "first US registrations" to ISO 9001:2000 from the top QMS registrars in North America. In response, 6 provided information about 12 organizations that were issued new or updated certificates for ISO 9001:2000 on or soon after December 15, 2000. An analysis of the registrations and a brief profile of each of the 12 organizations and their registration experiences is provided. The fact remains that December 15, 2003, is not far away for more than 300,000 organizations worldwide that hold ISO 9001/2/3:1994 certificates of registration.
