The Strengthening of Management Responsibility

Jeanne Ketola and Kathy Roberts write that management responsibility takes on a new dimension with ISO 9001:2000, which is designed to transfer QMS responsibility from the quality assurance function to top management. Ketola and Roberts examine Section 5, Management Responsibility, in ISO 9001:2000 and review all the management-related requirements in Sections 4-8 that are new, were in the 1994 edition but have been clarified, remain the same or have been eliminated.
