ISO 9001/4:2000 Overwhelmingly Approved

Although ISO had not yet reported official results, Dr. Jeffrey Hooper reports that the balloting on ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9004:2000 that concluded on November 14 resulted in 61 votes of approval and only 1 vote of disapproval for each, a 98.4% approval rate. Information on the ISO 9000 results were not yet reported, although a similar result is expected. Hooper, who is WG 18 Project Leader, provides his perspective in response to questions on the voting outcome, WG 18 efforts and the impact of the ISO 9001 changes.
