Who Should Attend
Internal auditors responsible for conducting process audits of the company's quality management system. This program is for existing audit staff members.

Learning Outcomes

  • Examine the ISO/TS 16949 quality system requirements in detail.
  • Learn 8 quality management principles.
  • Understand Customer-Oriented Processes (COPs).
  • Learn how to audit a process-based system.
  • Prepare for a process audit.
  • Conduct an actual shop-floor audit.

Course Goals

  • Provide an understanding of the requirements of the ISO/TS 16949:2002 technical specification.
  • A participant will be able to look up a specific requirement in the ISO/TS 16949:2002 and discuss the role of that requirement in their company.
  • Provide an understanding of the documentation changes.
  • A participant will see that process maps and other documentation are now part of the ISO/TS 16949 registration scheme.
  • Understand the process model used by ISO/TS 16949.
  • A participant will understand that a process has a series of inputs, adds value and creates outputs. Furthermore, the emphasis in this course will be on those processes where the inputs and outputs are directly related to the customer.
  • Discuss process auditing.
  • Using the process maps created during hands-on exercises, the participant will learn how to create audit schedules and checklists.
  • Learn how to plan a transition to ISO/TS 16949.
