ASQ Assigns New Membership Names

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 13, 2008 —The American Society for Quality (ASQ) board of directors has approved new names for its organizational memberships. Taking effect July 1, 2008, these new names will better identify the organizations to which they apply.

The membership types are:

  • Enterprise membership (formerly Organizational membership)
  • Site membership (formerly Sustaining membership)
  • K-12 membership (District) (formerly Educational Institution membership)
  • K-12 membership (School) (formerly Educational Institution membership)

All organizational members have greater access to solutions that help organizations maximize revenue and customer satisfaction by sharing the vision, tools, services and body of knowledge that ASQ membership provides.

As an Enterprise member, all locations around the world can take advantage of ASQ membership benefits. All employees have access to quality tools that allow an organization to realize greater productivity and performance; create uniformity of skill sets and drive team participation; apply process improvement techniques more widely; encourage continuous innovation; use quality as a business management tool; and reduce training and certification costs.

Site membership delivers many of the same benefits as an Enterprise membership but it is limited to the single physical location of the member. All employees at these individual locations can also take advantage of the ASQ membership benefits.

The K-12 District and School memberships assist members in gaining the resources necessary to help students achieve academic success, while continuing to focus on continuous growth and improvement.
